“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” – Saint Augustine
Explore the earthy paradise that is Slovenia, with snow-capped peaks, calm lakes and miles upon miles of forests. Find subterranean delights in the Postojna caves and experience architecture that perfectly compliments the natural wonders around you, from the tiny church on Lake Bled, to the art nouveau splendours of Ljubljana. In comparison, Croatia offers sapphire oceans and ancient walled towns with mansions and palaces of bygone ages. Don’t be fooled, Croatia packs plenty punch in the nature department too, especially when you see the Plitvice Lakes. Zdravo Slovinija… After our flight, we travel to our accommodation in Ljubljana. We will take the time to get to know this beautiful city and see all that it has to offer, including the Triple Bridge, the Robba Fountain, the bustling Central Market and the majestic Ljubljana Castle. We dine as a group tonight, to celebrate our arrival in the stunning country of Slovenia.

The hills are alive with the sound of cameras??? Today you should definitely not forget your camera, because we are taking a full day trip to the Logar Valley and Jezersko Village. We will see postcard-worthy scenery, explore the beautiful valleys, the Kamnik Alps and waterfalls fed by mountainous streams. This off the beaten track trip is the perfect opportunity to take photos that will make all your friends and family jealous.
Day 4, Sunday, 20 September 2020
Sunday Funday… Today is yours to explore as your heart desires. You can travel to see one of the lakes Slovenia is famous for, like Lake Bled or Lake Bohinj, with its cable car ride. Or you can stay in Ljubljana to stroll through a plaza or park and view some local musicians and walk along the Ljubljanica River, lined with outdoor cafes for some rest and relaxation. Or you can take a taxi to one of the towns nearby to explore more of the Slovenian countryside.
Day 5, Monday, 21 September 2020
Nature does not hurry… This day you get to see something truly special, a subterranean artwork created and carved by tiny droplets over millions of years. We visit the Postojna Cave Park to see one of the spectacular cave systems Slovenia is famous for. The caves are nearly 24 kilometres long, but don’t worry, you won’t have to walk it. The Postojna Cave underground train will take you to all the right underground halls, spires and rivers. At the mouth of a cave nearby you will find the Predjama Castle, the largest cave castle in the world. This magical castle seems to have jumped from the pages of a fairytale book.
Day 6, Tuesday, 22 September 2020
Ajmo na kavu… Today we travel by bus to Zagreb, the largest city in Croatia to explore this stunning city. We will view the city’s twin-spired, Gothic Cathedral, Ban Josip Jelačić Square and the café-lined Tkalčićeva Street. We can get on the shortest funicular in the world or climb up the Lotrščak Tower and see Zagreb from above.
Day 7, Wednesday, 23 September 2020
Always take the scenic route… Today, we head to Split. On the way there, we will stop in the stunning water-mill village, Rastoke, for refreshments. Our next stop on the road to Split is the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Make sure your phone or camera is fully charged today because at this stunning site, 16 turquoise coloured lakes flow from one into the other to create fairytale-like layered waterfalls with walkways for you to explore. After the full day of exploration, we end our journey in Split.
Day 8, Thursday, 24 September 2020
Split is calling our names to explore… We will take a walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace, the 1700-year-old retirement palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian and marvel at the Baroque monuments of the city centre. The rest of the day, you can do as you please. We recommend seeing the People’s Square, St. Domnius Cathedral and the Jupiter Temple. Or, if you are a bit more adventurous, take a Zip-line tour of Split. The nearby towns of Salona, Klis and Trogir are also worth seeing.
Day 9, Friday, 25 September 2020
Pearl of the Adriatic… We drive from Split to Dubrovnik. To get there, we have to drive through an entirely new country, Bosnia and Herzogovina. In Dubrovnik it is easy to see why this beautiful city was used as a filming location for Game of Thrones, with its red roofs and old city walls.
Day 10, Saturday, 26 September 2020
The story of Dubrovnik is old as it is beautifull… Today we will have the opportunity to see Dubrovnik from above, as we walk the ancient city walls and look out on the red roofs on one side and the blue ocean on the other. For the rest of the day, you will have free access to many historical attractions in the city including the Friars Minor Franciscan Monastery Museum. We will get together for a group meal on our last night in this unforgettable country, to share memories of our trip.
