Here we go!!! Pack your bags and make sure you have your passport! Today, we fly from OR Tambo to Marrakesh Menara Airport. Our holiday has officially begun!
Day 2, Monday, 23 March 2020
You have arrived at your destination. Get ready for a little bit of culture shock and a little bit of jetlag. But it is all worth it. We get picked up from the airport by our bus and taken to our beautiful riad (hotel) in Marrakesh. You get the afternoon for some private time to relax and get clean after a long flight. But tonight, we get together for the spectacle that is the Djemaa el-Fna Food Market. This food market includes traditional storytellers, snake charmers and authentic Moroccan street food. Grab a tasty treat and watch the shows!
Day 3, Tuesday, 24 March 2020
Some fresh air… After a breakfast at the hotel, we embark on a journey into the Moroccan landscape. We travel through the High Atlas Mountains and into the Ourika Valley. This is the perfect time to visit as the countryside is in full bloom. Our trip includes a lunch on the banks of the Ourika river, where you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan tagine and take the walk to the Ourika waterfalls. Our bus takes us back to Marrakesh, where you can spend the night as you please.
Day 4, Wednesday, 25 March 2020
Here’s looking at you, kid…We enjoy breakfast at the hotel and depart for Fes, another beautiful city in Morocco. On the way, we stop in sea-side Casablanca. You can grab a quick lunch and stroll through the city. After lunch we continue our journey to our riad in Fes. You will have the rest of the day to explore the city at your own pace. Dinner is as a group at a traditional Moroccan restaurant.
Day 5, Thursday, 26 March 2020
Part of the tradition…After a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we depart for a day of haggling and shopping in one of the oldest souks in Morocco. We see beautiful sights such as the Blue Gate and the Chouara Tannery and stop by a museum with beautiful gardens and displays. The afternoon we will depart from busy Fes and head to Tangier on the coast. We will be taken to our riad in Tangier and you can explore the city by night. You will receive an allowance to spend at the restaurant of your choice.
Day 6, Friday, 27 March 2020
Toro! Toro! It’s an early morning, out of bed, in with breakfast and out the hotel. We head to the port to catch an early ferry to Spain. Another bus receives us in Tarifa and so our Spain adventure begins. This jam-packed day takes us to Ronda for lunch and a tour of the oldest bullring in Spain. We can look down the dizzying 120m drop of the canyon under the famous Puente Nuevo bridge and the jaw-dropping sights this mountain-top city has to offer. After lunch, we depart for Seville, where we will spend our night. You will have private time until dinner where we will dine as a group at a local restaurant.
Day 7, Saturday, 28 March 2020
The Earth laughs in flowers…After an early breakfast at the hotel, we head out in Seville to view the Royal Alcazar as well as the Cathedral and its spectacular bell tower. You can enter and explore the cathedral or wander through the shops instead. We drive from Seville to Cordoba where you will receive an allowance to indulge in the lunch of your choice. After lunch, we will be taken on a tour of the city, including the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba and the quaint Street of Flowers. We end our day in Granada, where we will spend the next few nights. The evening is yours to explore what Granada has to offer.
Day 8, Sunday, 29 March 2020
History is beautiful…We start this beautiful day with a breakfast at the hotel and then we’re off to the Alhambra, one of the gems of Spain. We spend a few hours here, in the beautiful palace and fortress and its rich history, so closely connected to that of Spain. We visit its gardens and the Generalife as part of the tour. This afternoon you can spend as you please, shopping at the Alcaiceria, resting or just exploring the city on your own. We have dinner at one of the many sublime restaurants in Granada.
Day 9, Monday, 30 March 2020
Así se baila!!!After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, we head to Toledo for lunch. You can walk around this beautiful riverside city and feel the years of history. After lunch, it is a short drive to Madrid, the capitol of Spain and our home for two nights. We will enjoy a traditional Spanish dinner while we watch a passionate Flamenco show as a group. Truly a spectacle.
Day 10, Tuesday, 31 March 2020
A dream is a wish…Today we make a daytrip from Madrid to Segovia. Breakfast is early so that we can view all that this small town has to offer. We will stop by the Aqueduct of Segovia, the symbol of the city. This towering Roman aqueduct is one of the best preserved in the world. We also see this city’s Alcazar, a fairytale-like castle. It is so beautiful that Walt Disney is said to have taken it as inspiration for Cinderella’s dreamy castle. Together we will have a mouth-watering lunch. This traditional dish will leave you craving more. After lunch, we head back to Madrid where we visit the Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. You can head into the Royal Palace if you would like, because the rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to enjoy.

Feet in the sand…After we have breakfast at the hotel, we head to Valencia. This city is the home and origin of paella, so we won’t leave without having this delectable lunch on the beach. Our cherry-picked restaurant is sure to offer many variations of the dish, but paella valenciana is the true original. After this late lunch, you can explore the city on your own.
Day 12, Thursday, 2 April 2020
Fountastic!!! After breakfast at our hotel in Valencia, we head to Peniscola, a beautiful seaside town, where you can stretch your legs, grab a quick lunch and enjoy the gorgeous sights. We head to magnificent Barcelona next to see Antoni Gaudi’s most famous building, La Sagrada Familia. We also head up to Montjuic, to witness the enchanting light show of the Magic Fountain and view the harbour below. You will receive an allowance to spend at whichever restaurant you choose.
Day 13, Friday, 3 April 2020
Of art and nature…Unfortunately, it is our last day in Spain. After breakfast at the hotel, we head to the extravagant Park Güell, another of Gaudi’s creations. This fun and colourful park is perfect to stroll through, unwind, take a last few photos to make all your friends and family jealous. We say goodbye to this wonderful country as we drive to the airport and head back home.
